System Messages

The System Messages module maintains the library of error codes, validation messages, and notification text used throughout meatsoft.

Viewing messages

Navigate to Admin ??? System Messages. Messages are listed with their code, text, and category.

Adding a message

1. Click New Message.
2. Assign a unique message code (e.g., ERR_001, WARN_042).
3. Select the category (Error, Warning, Info, Success).
4. Enter the message text ??? this is what users see on screen.
5. Click Save.

Editing a message

Click Edit next to any message to update the text or category. The message code cannot be changed after creation.

Caution: Changing message text affects every place in the application where that message is shown. Verify the new wording is correct in all contexts before saving.

Deleting a message

Messages that are referenced by application code cannot be deleted. If you no longer need a message, set it to Inactive to hide it from the active list without removing the record.

When to use this module

This module is primarily used during system configuration and when adding new validation rules as part of development or customisation. Day-to-day users do not typically need to access it.
