Managing Batches

A Kill Floor Batch groups all animals processed during a single shift or day. Every log entry must belong to an open batch.

Opening a batch

1. Navigate to Kill Floor ??? Manage Batches.
2. Click New Batch.
3. Fill in the batch details:
   • Batch Date ??? the processing date
   • Shift ??? Morning / Afternoon / Night
   • Supervisor ??? responsible person for the shift
4. Click Save. The batch status is set to Open.

Adding log entries

With a batch open, go to Kill Floor ??? Batch Logs:

1. Select the batch from the dropdown.
2. Click Add Entry.
3. Enter the animal details ??? producer, species, weight, grade, and any notes.
4. Click Save to record the entry.

Repeat for each animal processed during the shift.

Closing a batch

Once all entries are recorded:

1. Go to Kill Floor ??? Manage Batches.
2. Find the open batch and click Close.
3. Confirm the head count and total weight shown in the summary.
4. Click Confirm Close.

Warning: A closed batch cannot be re-opened. Verify all entries are correct before closing.

Editing a batch

Open batches can be edited. Click Edit next to the batch to change the date, shift, or supervisor. Individual log entries can also be corrected while the batch is open.
